After failing my first SAFE MLO Exam attempt with a 68, I was looking for something that would help me understand what went wrong and how to prepare differently.
That search led me to a brand-new Facebook group called MLO Study Buddy. It had just been created by Charlee Jacobs — and I became the second member.

FROM A FACEBOOK GROUP TO A COMMUNITY
MLO Study Buddy did not begin as a business plan. It grew from people helping people through one of the most difficult exams in the mortgage industry.
Charlee Jacobs created the original MLO Study Buddy Facebook group. After joining as the second member, I stayed active, kept studying, and began helping other people who were struggling with the same things I had struggled with.
As more people joined, the group became something bigger. Students studied together, asked questions, shared setbacks, celebrated passes, encouraged each other, and built real relationships along the way.
That community eventually became the foundation for MLO Study Buddy as a company. I built the business around the same idea that made the group special — give people better tools, clearer direction, and real support while they work toward passing the SAFE MLO Exam.
Today, MLO Study Buddy offers study guides, practice tests, flashcards, tutoring, live classes, study tools, and other resources — but the heart of it is still the same: people helping people succeed.
